Should there should be a limit on how far a quarterback can run downfield and still be allowed to slide? I’m for the quarterbacks running as much as they want, but sooner or later, like when they get 20-yards downfield, they should be considered football players and not quarterbacks.
When You Saw…
…Green Bay Packers defensive back Micah Hyde drop a sure interception in the final minutes of the Packers playoff game on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers did you know that Green Bay was going to lose.
Sometimes you don’t need to be Nostradamus after a botched play like that.
Quote of the Weekend
“Come on Andy Dalton! At least Tim Tebow has a playoff win.”–Popular comment on twitter after Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton’s (now 0-3 in playoffs) poor performance in playoff loss to the San Diego Chargers on Sunday.
Keep your ears to the ground, but don’t believe everything you read on a message board thread for the next few weeks. The holiday season might be over, but the silly season for high school coaching changes has just begun. Rumors, changes, insanity, anything is possible from now through the end of March.
Did You Know…?
That in the 1971-1972 college basketball season that USC finished 24-2? They did. Both losses were to UCLA and USC failed to qualify for the NCAA Tournament that year as only conference champions advanced to the tourney.
Boys Basketball Note
Mt. View guard Isaih Mendoza is averaging 24 points and eight rebounds a game this season. The 6-1 senior has made 33 of 71 attempts from beyond the three-point line.
Girls Basketball Note
After opening the season with a victory the Rosemead Lady Panthers have dropped eight in a row. League play in the Mission Valley League for the girls (and the boys) begins January 15th.
All is not lost.
