APU Gets Bowl Victory

Terrell Watson rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns to lead Azusa Pacific to a 67-0 victory over Greenville College in the 2013 National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Victory Bowl game at Barron Stadium in Rome, Georgia.
In the process Watson is now the Cougars all time leading rusher with 3,609 yards, passing Christian Okoye’s mark of 3,589. He also passed Okoye’s single season rushing touchdown record of 21 as he finishes the year with 23.
APU blitzed out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back as all three of Watson’s scores came in the first half of play.
Dasmen Stewart then fired a pair of touchdown passes, a 9-yard strike to Tanner Henry and an 18-yarder to Ed Dillihunt, to build the lead to 41-0. Stewart finished 11 of 13 for 129 yards and three touchdowns.
Jamie Cacciatorre added a 44-yard field field goal to make 44-0 at the break.
In the second half Henry caught a second scoring pass from Stewart, Cacciatorre added another trey, and Sean Fleming returned a pick six 48-yards to make it 61-0.
Back up quarterback Justin McPherson, who scored on a short run in the first quarter, added one yard sneak to close out the scoring.
The victory improved APU to 10-2. It is only the third time in school history they have finished with a 10-win season.
Greenville closed the 2013 campaign with a 9-2 record.
