When you measure a team’s performance by its possessions instead of the points it scored then you know it was a rough night in Dodge.
Except Friday night it wasn’t Dodge, it was in Temple City where the host Rams fell to the visiting Eagle Rock Eagles 27-8 in week three of the 2013 season.
The Rams, after falling behind 27-0, scored a late touchdown when quarterback Nasser Banihani scored on a 2-yard run with 3:31 to play in the fourth.
The Eagles (4-0) were led by running back Mike Soracco who scored two touchdowns while quarterback Vince Loera passed for two more.
Temple City had 10 possessions in the game. One ended in a touchdown, three ended by punt, six ended with a turnover on downs. Five of the Rams turnover on downs ended in Eagle Rock territory. Temple City did not lose possession by fumble or interception.
Banihani threw the ball five times, completed one pass for 11-yards to Nick Kaneko. His fifth pass busted the lens of a reporter on the sideline.
Nick Starling led the Rams in rushing with 55 yards on 16 carries. Kaneko carried the ball 15 times for 41 yards, and Diego Arreola 7 carries for 29 yards.
Temple City (1-3) goes to Rosemead (2-1) next week.
