Arroyo Fall---QB Nathan Cotoarroyo webEl Monte

The Arroyo Knights received 280 passing yards and two touchdowns from quarterback Nathan Coto but it wasn’t enough as they fell to the Los Altos Conquerors, 28-21, Friday night at B.L. Bergstrom Stadium

The Conquerors were led by their quarterback Christian Hacegaba who passed for 104 yards and two scores, but also rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown.

The Knights held a 14-13 halftime lead when Jose Valdivia caught an 8-yard touchdown pass from Coto with 1:37 to play in the second quarter.

After Arroyo wide receiver Nico Lozano hauled in a 84-yard touchdown pass from Coto to tie the game in the third quarter the stage was set for the Los Altos game winner.

Yashua Haith put his team on top for good with a 58-yard punt return in the fourth quarter.

The Knights got the ball with 3:38 left in the contest and drove down to the Los Altos 11. But on fourth and ten with 29 seconds left Coto was sacked and the Conqs ran out the clock.

“I was pleased with our effort. But on a couple of possessions we came up empty. Against a team like that you can’t afford to give up possessions,” Arroyo HC Jim Singiser said.
