The next cross country season set to begin in September. It comes with stars and powerhouses, and here’s a brief glimpse at the young ladies who will be getting up early, and running late…In a good way.
Arcadia has been the local powerhouse in the area seemingly since the Pilgrims crossed the Atlantic on the Mayflower. The Apaches return seniors Veronica Yamane and Meghan Kamae, junior Laura Guidolin, and super sophomore Alyssa Hopf.
Arroyo has a pair of strong runners back in the fold with Adrean Seanez and Destiny Reyes.
Staying alphabetically correct, Roxanne Valle a junior out of Azusa High School might be on the edge of our coverage zone, but she is one of the strongest runners (not enrolled at Arcadia) coming back in 2013 and bears watching.
Monrovia has talent in Mara Arementa, a senior, and in a set of juniors, Emma McGinnis and Kaylee Johnson.
The Wildcats Rio Hondo League counter part Temple City brings back Christine Chen and Franceska Millanponce, both juniors. Monette La, senior, is back as well.
Outside of Arroyo in the Mission Valley League the strength of cross country talent comes from both Rosemead and Gabrielino.
The Lady Panthers bring back senior Mirtha Lopez and junior Ivon Ruiz. The Lady Eagles will challenge with Xin Yi Tan, a senior, and Sharon Khoo, a junior.
