El Monte, CA –Arroyo climbed back into the Mission Valley League on Friday night with a 14-3 victory over Mt View at B.L. Bergstrom.

The win extends the Knights winning streak over the Vikings to 31 consecutive, but it didn’t come with standard Arroyo lightening strikes and a running clock in the fourth quarter. This one was a grinder.

After a scoreless first quarter, and only 3:45 to play in the second, Peter Aholoka scored on a 4-yard run up the middle to give Arroyo a 7-0 lead.

Mt. View was able to get a shot at and convert a field goal from Chris Gonzalez to narrow the margin to 7-3 at the break.

Aholoka added a 3-yard run with 4:08 remaining in the fourth to close the scoring.

The Vikings played without quarterback Xavier Yanez.
