Lambert Park Wins Sweepstakes Trophy at the 29th Annual Cheerleaders’ Jamboree

At the April 22nd El Monte City Council meeting, the Lambert Park Cheerleaders were recognized as the winners of the 29th Annual Cheerleaders’ Jamboree and received awards from Mayor Andre Quintero and the City Council.  Lambert Park also captured the Sweepstakes Trophy.

This year’s Annual Cheerleaders’ Jamboree was held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Lambert Park Bernie Boomer Gymnasium. Over 500 people were in attendance for this one day event which was a success with city park cheerleaders from Gibson Mariposa, Lambert, Mt. View, and Zamora Parks who participated in this event.

Other winners from this spectacular event, were Mt. View taking First Place in the Free Style Group competition and  Zamora Park taking Second Place.  In the Cheer Group competition, Gibson Mariposa Park took Second Place.  Congratulations to Mt. View Park who took home the SPIRIT STICK!

The El Monte Parks & Recreation would like to thank the Public Works staff and all the volunteers for their help and support. They would also like to thank the Department Head Secretary, Maria Sepulveda, who beautifully sang the Star Spangled Banner and a special thanks to the Cheer Coordinators, Veronica Meza and Brenda Severiano and the wonderful cheer coaches, Vanessa Rodriguez, Amy Talamantes, Mallory Grande and Ashley Najarro for making this a spectacular event that every cheerleader will fondly remember!
