Local Cities Participate in the 125th Annual Rose Parade

Sierra Madre and Cal Poly Universities both had entries in the 2014 Rose Parade. This year’s theme was “Dreams Come True.” Sierra Madre’s float was entitled, “Catching the Big One.” Cal Poly Pomona and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s float, “Bedtime Buccaneers” won the Crown City Innovation Award. According to sources, “the float was the only entry in the parade to be certified as ‘California Grown,’ meaning at least 85% of the flowers came from the state.”
Also, the sensational Pasadena City College Honor Band was in the parade. Many members are from local area schools, including: Temple City, South El Monte, Pasadena, Don Bosco, Gabrielino, South Pasadena and Walnut.
