In a world of confusion throughout the holidays, there was a calming of the storm when the communities of El Monte and South El Monte met to share the blessings of giving back. At the Grace Black Auditorium on December 11, 2013, the El Monte community came together to give to those that were less fortunate as they donated many teddy bears, and toys of all kinds. The Emergency Resources Association appreciated the support, as they continue this wonderful tradition. Beautiful Christmas trees were on display along with the wonderful choir from Mountain View High School, who entertained us all.
We cannot forget all the fabulous food from the many restaurants and businesses in the area that were there to show some of their specialty dishes. Some of the restaurant sponsors and others were: Big Famous Burgers, Denny’s, Di Pilla’s Italian, El Patio Bar & Grill, El Sombrero, Ignacio’s Bar & Grill, Kentucky Fried Chicken, The Deli Box, The Post Pizza, Tito’s Market-Authentic- South American Food, Goody’s, Double Tree, Starbucks, Union 76, Double Tree, Marriot, Ramada Inn, Mi Dolce Vita, Atlas Dental, All New Stamping Company, and many others. One of the standout sponsors for the event was M.C. Gil Corporation as they were most gracious to the E.R.A. in contributing $30,000 dollars to help those in need.
Many of the El Monte & South El Monte Chamber members came together to contribute to this worthy cause. It is nice to know that they have hearts that are filled with giving to others in a very special way during this special time of year.
