Jerry Velasco, Treasurer

El Monte needs proven and experienced leadership in order to effectively manage our city’s finances.

Our budget was hit hard by the recent economic downturn, but thanks to strong leadership at City Hall, we have been able to protect funding for police and fire services, maintain programs that seniors and families rely on and fund common sense street and infrastructure repairs.

As your Treasurer, I will be a watchdog over our precious tax dollars and ensure El Monte’s assets are properly managed and protected.

I am a 26 year El Monte resident.  I currently serve as the Treasurer of the San Gabriel Valley Civic Alliance, a Planning Commissioner, a Police Auxiliary Committee Member and a small business owner.   I have managed the finances of both non-profit organizations and businesses and I have the experience and work ethic needed to be an effective Treasurer.

My candidacy has earned the support of Mayor Andre Quintero, Councilmembers Norma Macias and Bart Patel, and neighborhood leaders from every corner of El Monte because they know that I will be a tireless advocate for fiscal responsibility and transparency.

I will bring experience, honesty, and a cooperative spirit to City Hall and I respectfully ask for your vote.

Jerry Velasco
