Juventino “J” Gomez, Councilman Re-Election
Councilman Juventino “J” Gomez began his career in local government when he started working for the County of Los Angeles where he retired in 2010 after an illustrious 38 years of dedicated service. His career for Los Angeles County began in 1972 in the Human Resources Department and he spent the last 12 years serving as Senior Deputy to Los Angeles County for Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.
In 2003, “J” was appointed to serve as Councilman for the City of El Monte and has been re-elected twice to 4-year terms. By tenaciously working to build relationships between local, County, State and Federal Governments, “J” has significantly and notably contributed to the City of El Monte’s successful economic and social development.
Councilman Gomez is a disabled American Veteran who served in the United States Army from August 1965 to November 1967. He has been an activist for our Veterans. His oldest son, Juventino Gomez, Jr. served in Desert Storm as a Marine. His youngest son, Christopher Gomez served in Iraq and is now serving in Afghanistan in the US Army.
