I believe that I am qualified to hold the office of board member in the El Monte City School District because I:

  • Currently am the President of the board
  • Have 34 years experience as a teacher in the district
  • Served as President of the El Monte Elementary Teachers Association (E.M.E.T.A)
  • Am active in California Teachers Association Student Safety Committee
  • Served as bargaining chairperson for E.M.E.T.A
  • Have 7 children who are products of El Monte schools (3 work in the educational field)
  • Served on the National Association of Latino Elected Officials, Healthy Communities Committee

If elected, I will continue to support:

  • Student success
  • District solvency
  • Student and staff safety
  • Parent involvement
  • Employee morale/ competitive compensation
  • First class facilities

I seek this office because I truly care for the students and community. Even though retired as an educator, I wish to stay connected to the success of our children. As a board member, I have proven myself as a leader (Board president) not only within the district but within the City of El Monte.
