Christian Diaz is the son of two hard working individuals who emigrated from Mexico in the pursuit of a better future for their children. Christian has been a resident of El Monte since his inception and has grown up witnessing the many challenges, growth and opportunities the community has had within the last 20 years.

Christian is a product of the Mountain View School District schools and attended Mountain View High School. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology and a minor in Chicano/a Studies.  He then pursued his Juris Doctorate and a Master’s in Social Work at the University of Southern California and graduated this past May 2013.

Believing wholeheartedly in the strength of a collective, Christian would like to bring innovative and evidenced based approaches to the school setting and community in order to empower students and parents to reach their full potential as members and participants of our community. Serving as President of various organizations has helped Christian formulate different strategic plans that have helped impact policies and create changes in schools such as UCLA and USC.  It is a new and invigorating vision that leads Christian to re-invent, restore, and integrate ideas to improve the educational system and our community for the betterment of our students, parents and families.  Providing a new voice, vision and an adaptable environment to the Mountain View School District School Board will allow for continued progress for our students and their families.
