PCC Presents “Hairspray
Pasadena City College’s Performing and Communication Arts Division is proud to present “Hairspray, the Broadway Musical,” beginning Feb. 22 in Sexson Auditorium in the C Building.
Based on the New Line Cinema film written and directed by John Waters, “Hairspray” is about a girl who achieves her dream of performing on a TV dance show in 1960s Baltimore. In the process, she works to integrate the show.
PCC’s rendition is directed by PCC instructor Richard Kuller, with choreography by Christopher Curry, musical direction by Kyle Luck, and vocal direction by Karen Benjamin.
Performances will be Friday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Additional performances will be Thursday, Feb. 28 at 8 p.m., Friday, March 1 at 8 p.m., and Saturday, March 2 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
General admission is $15, and $10 for students, staff and seniors. Parking permits can be purchased from parking lot vending machines.
