Los Angeles Federal Credit Union (LAFCU) collected 468 toys for its annual “Toys for Tots” toy drive aimed at spreading holiday cheer to local, needy children. For nearly 20 years, LAFCU has partnered with the U.S. Marines Corps Reserves Toys for Tots Program in asking employees and members to donate new, unwrapped toys to one of its six branches during the months of November and December.

Despite the slow economy, LAFCU members and employees generously donated everything from dolls to bikes to the latest hi-tech gadgets.  Toys were also purchased with monies donated to our charity, Los Angeles Charitable Association, Inc. Toys for Tots is sponsored by The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity that serves as the fundraising and support arm for the program. Since its inception in 1947, the Toys for Tots Program has distributed more than 452 million toys to more than 209 million needy children. In addition to individual donations from the American public, the Toys for Tots program relies on support from business and corporate sponsors, like LAFCU.
