He was a mechanic for the L.A.P.D. for 29 years. My mother Amy Tina (Cravea) Crum was born in Los Angeles, CA and graduated from Wilson High School.
An only child. I’ve lived all my life in Rosemead, CA. I attended Encinita Elementary, Muscatal Middle School and Rosemead High. I graduated from Rosemead High in 1974.
I received an A.A. degree from Pasadena City College in 1976. I graduated U.S.C. with a B.A. in history in 1978. I received a Master’s Degree in history from Cal State Los Angeles in 1984.
I worked as a bartender (beer & wine only) for two years at King Arthur’s Pizza in Temple City, CA prior to my teaching career. I was hired asa history teacher at Rosemead High School beginning with the 1980-81 school year. I went on to teach at Rosemead for 29 years (all of them in room 96). All 29 years I taught U.S. History and the last 27 of them I taught World History as well. I was the football “Voice of the Panthers” for 12 years (PA announcer) and coached both football and basketball for short periods at Rosemead.
For the past 16 years I’ve worked the scoreboard for Pasadena City College’s home football games.

My passion now is for travel and I have been to all 50 states traveling in my R.V. “The Black Pearl”. I’ve camped in all of the lower 48 states and taken two cruises each to Alaska and Hawaii. I’ve been on 19 cruises already — the “Pacific Princess” on Jan. 27, 2013 will be my 20th cruise.
