Arcadia Rotarians Make Donation to Help Build Education Center
By Anne Donofrio-Holter
Arcadia, CA –The Arcadia Rotary Club and the Arcadia Rotary Foundation each contributed $5,000 to the Arcadia Historical Museum Foundation in their quest to build an education center.
“Since 2001, the Arcadia Museum Foundation has been providing innovative and exciting educational opportunities for children of all ages and backgrounds in the community. However, space constraints have limited them as to the types and number of programs they can offer,” said Arcadia Rotary Club past president Dr. Brad Miller, who presented the checks along with Bob Hoffman, president of the Arcadia Rotary Foundation.
According to Floretta Lauber, Arcadia Museum Foundation president, the proposed 2,600-square-foot education center will house a large lecture hall, a gallery running the length of the building, modified kitchen facilities and essential storage space.
“This donation was made in memory of Bob Daggett, a longtime club member and the architect who designed the building for the education center, the last project he worked on before his passing,” said Miller. “Known for his wry sense of humor and generosity, Bob was loved by everyone.”
“It is so important for the students of Arcadia to have a place where they can learn about the history of their city and we are proud to make this donation,” added Hoffman.
“On behalf of the board of directors and the children of Arcadia, I would like to express our appreciation to the Arcadia Rotary Club for their donation,” said Lauber.
