San Gabriel Rotarians and residents paid tribute to the Victims and Families affected by the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks at San Gabriel’s South Fire Station 51 with officers and firefighters from the San Gabriel Police and Fire Departments on September 11, 2012.
September 11, 2012 marked the 11th observance of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. In all, nearly 3,000 people were killed in the attacks. Among the dead were 411 emergency workers who fearlessly served and responded. 343 firefighters from the Fire Department of New York including a chaplain and 2 paramedics, 60 police officers from the New York Police Department and Port Authority Police Department and 8 emergency medical technicians.
In remembrance of September 11 in San Gabriel, a 9/11 Memorial was built and dedicated to the Victims on the front lawn of Fires Station
51 located at 1303 S. Del Mar Avenue in San Gabriel on September 11, 2002.
