Christmas Decorations put away, new clothes and toys being enjoyed and calendars for the new year of 2014 being marked with appointments and new events we are looking forward to. JANUARY is designated as National Blood Donor Month, Cervical Health Awareness Month, Birth Defects Prevention Month and National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. My first day of the New Year started looking at the floats as they were parked on Orange Grove Avenue in Pasadena and then staying and enjoying all the excitement of the parade.
What kind of a year will this be for you? My very special wishes to you for a most happy and wonderful 2014. As we count our blessings, let us not forget those that are in need, not just at Christmas time, but throughout the year. There are so many opportunities for volunteers to help in so many ways and there are many service clubs and groups that encourage membership or joining a group for special projects. No matter what you like to do or what interests you have, if you can give a little time, you can be a great help to someone in need.
