Letters To The Editor
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
The November elections are almost over, but, in a few cases, we must await the final vote until the 25th of this month. For vote count updates, you may wish to visit www.lavote.net. My election campaign was challenging and instructive. I was delighted to learn that our residents still strongly support public education, but expect us to do better for our students. My condolences and warm regards go out to all those candidates who were unsuccessful. And, I wish to extend my congratulations to all the candidates who were elected. Everyone worked hard and did their best, investing much time and energy in their campaigns.
In our community, we had two public forums for candidates. We all owe a debt of gratitude to the League of Women Voters and our El Monte BPW for the first Forum and Pastors Gil and Hoglin for the second one. In closing, I wish to express my gratitude for the great support I received from my friends, neighbors, past and present students and, in particular our wonderful, hardworking and dedicated El Monte Union High School District classified employees. Let me remind everyone that “Education is the cornerstone of life…and our students deserve the best!”
