Here we are, once again having the most beautiful weather, warm, but not too hot, cool and not too cold and breezy enough to fly our flags.  A reminder that Friday, June 14 will be Flag Day and we should all fly our Flags proudly.

Another reminder, and I hope that not too many of you needed one, but Sunday, June 16, 2013 will be Father’s Day.  A once a year special day in which to show Dad how much he means to us by making sure that Dad, Pop, Father, papa or whatever you call your father, has extra special treatment to make him happy.  That could be a fishing trip, golf game, tickets to his favorite show or sports or just letting him watch T V all day (with great snacks, of course) or maybe just a long nap.  And of course, do not forget the food!  This is the day Dad should have his favorites, from breakfast to dinner and late night snack!   So to all the men out there, who are deserving of the title:  HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

A Father’s Day Luncheon and Dance will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the Jack Crippen Senior Center, 3120 N. Tyler Avenue, El Monte, California.   The doors open at 10:00 am and lunch will be served at 11:30 am.  A $2.00 donation is suggested for those 60 years of age and older.  The menu will be Yankee Pot Roast, mashed potatoes, biscuit, peas & corn, Waldorf salad, chocolate tart or fruit alternate and orange juice.  Featuring L-360 for dancing.  Transportation is available for El Monte residents 50 years of age and older by calling 626-580-2217.
