IZOD IndyCar Runs Through The Long Beach Grand Prix
At the Grand Prix of Long Beach the IZOD IndyCar series came through on their 3rd event of the year before heading south to Sao Paulo, Brazil. 27 cars started the field lead by the pole winner Dario Franchitti. By the first lap cars were beginning to be eliminated due to contact. In total 6 cars were out due to contact, mechanical, or electrical issues. Takuma Sato was able to take the lead on lap 31 and lead it to the end of 80 laps to take the checkered flag. This was Sato’s first win of the year giving him a good sight into the rest of the year into the race in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
