Pomona, CA –Despite a fiery run from Jack Beckman during Friday’s practice rounds, Beckman was able to pull off the win for the Funny Car Championship over the weekend at the Auto Club Finals at Pomona. Along with Antron Brown’s fiery run in his Top Fuel dragster pulled the win off entering Sunday with a 67-point lead over Tony Schumacher. Beckman took the win after Capps lost to Courtney Force in the Semifinal round of funny car at the Auto Club Finals. This is the first time since 2005 DSR (Don Schumacher Racing) won both Nitro titles. NHRA comes back to Pomona February 14th -17th for the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Winternationals to kick off the 2013 Mello Yello Drag Racing Series
