Just last weekend NMCA West hit Pomona Raceway at the Fairplex. With the heat bearing down on the races and being nearly 3 hours behind schedule on Saturday races due to a firey crash just past the 1/8 mark on the ¼ track. The Chevy Nova that crashed hit the wall after skidding through the right lane then bouncing back to the left wall where the car came to a rest. The driver exited his car under his own power and waited for the fire crew to arrive which took way to long for the severity of the crash and that the driver had the time to climb the k rail and walk a considerable distance from his vehicle. To the true street cruise of cars from daily drivers to custom rods people put their car through a 30 mile cruise then 3 consecutive passes on the strip. With one car somehow missing the turn at the end of the track and ending up in the sand and gravel trap. NMCA West now moves onto Speedworld Dragstrip in Phoenix September 21-23.
